Thorough Italians
We’ve
had thorough preperations, says Italian Pietro Piller Cottrer. The
tracks on both the Lillehammer and Rena sides has been tested by the
Italian runners in front of the race. Cottrer sees himself an outsider
but hopes to finish as one of the best 15.

Pietro Piller Cottrer will fight ell the
way to the finish line.

Great arrangement
- Birkebeinerrenn is a wonderful competition, Cottrer says. But he don’t
disguise that he is sceptical to a World Cup Race this late in the
season. He also miss competitors fra several other ski-countries.
Prepereations
In international top-crosscountry nothing is left to circumstances. The
Italians has tested out the last 25 km down to Lillehammer and the first
15 from start and up to the mountain on the Rena side. Cottrer admits he
has gotten to know the track very well. He also say to birken.no that he
prefers traditional Italian food as pasta and pizza.
Jevne wins the race and Elofsson the World Cup
This is Cottrer’s stable tip. He won’t be surprised if the other
Norwegians do good as well. Yet – he think even though that Alsgaard
could be a serious threath to Elofssons World Cup victory.
Surprise in the end
From earlier, we know outsiders can be right in the top. Cottrer has
fighted in the top in a lot of races. He might be a bit modest when he
hopes to be among the 15 best? Could we expect a surprise right in the
end of the race? Cottrer says he won’t go out hard, but and tactical and
be strong in the end.
