Eafter a thrilling ending of this years WC, both Per Eloffson and his personal trainer Magnar Dalen are glad the the World Cup is won. Dalen thinks Elofsson has more to give. It’s especially the speedskiing he has to train on, Dalen states.

- It was very close, he just did it, Magnar Dalen says about the duell between Elofsson and Alsgaard. If Elofsson came on less than 10th place and Alsgaard had won, his WorldCupvictory had been lost.

- It hadn’t been unfair if Alsgaard had won, he and Per was very close. Per was best before the Olympics and Thomas has been best after, and its good that the victory is between these two, cause they’re both honest and good skiers.

Now that this seasons WorldCup is over, focus is already on next season for Magnar Dalen. –Per will probably continue in same manner as this year, and use the same programme.

Next years World Championchip in Val di Fiemme isn’t is high a goal as the Olympics in Salt Lake City, but Magnar thinks this is an advantage for Elofsson.

- Train mer sprint!
The challenge for Per next season will be to be better at sprinttechnique. This is the advise from the trainer, who is going to quit. – You loose a lot of points when you’re a bad sprinter, more races having a mass-start and sprint will be increasingly more important.

Even though Elofsson wasn’t very satisfied with Birkebeinerrennet was the endrace in the World Cup, both he and Dalen are pleased with the race itself. They agreed that the weather and the trackconditions couldn’t have been better…..
