Odd Martinsen had hoped for her to fight in the lead during the Birkebeiner, but you cannot do much about illness, and her already had won the World Cup there was no reason the risk the health.

Satisfied with the Birkebeiner
- It’s good to have a long race in the World Cup, but if we can see the Birkebeiner as a World Cup race later I can not say.

- We first have to see what ”The Birk” is worth, and so far things are looking very good. Then there has to be a request from the arranger through the National Ski Federation. This have to be discussed with other possible arrangers. The termlist and the weekends are packed with races, says the leader of The International Ski Federation.
