Followed by 5 strong Norwegian places in this years WC-ending came German Andreas Schlütter on sixth place. The Birkebeiner is not a very difficult race, it’s much easier than an ordinary 50km in an ordinary race.

Andreas Schlütter ended in 5th spot.

“The Birk” is a very nice race, by the way. My skies failed me a little in the start, but I got it back at the end. –I am glad the season is over, he tells us with a grin.

He is satisfied with his result even though he had wished to be higher up on the lists afterwords. The Norwegians had very good skies, you cannot disguise that. But they also have a large crew to back their racers up with. Norwegians are always strong in classical style.

Andreas says the Birkebeinerrenn is a very good end of the World Cup. The race has been successfull and is very good arranged.

On a question if he ever will og the Birkebeiner with a backpack, he responds: - Maybe some time. In about three years =)
